Profile

Hello!
My name is Monaka, and I am the owner of this website “Asakusa-Walker”.

Profile of Monaka

Brief History of Monaka

He was born in Asakusa, Tokyo, and grew up in Koshigaya, Saitama.

Then back to the Asakusa, we had a Shinto ceremony at Sensoji Temple and a reception at the Asakusa View Hotel.

He currently lives and works in Asakusa while being a father of one.

How the site was launched

Since my grandparents lived in Asakusa, I have participated in events such as the Sanja Festival and the Sumida River Fireworks Festival since I was a child.

I want people to know more about Asakusa, this place filled with fun and healing!

With this in mind, we launched our website “Asakusa-Walker” in March 2023.

How about a site that introduces really good restaurants in Asakusa?
How about a site that introduces hidden tourist attractions?
If I am going to do this, I want to do something that only I can do now.

As I was thinking about this while taking a walk with my child in Asakusa as usual, I suddenly realized that there are quite a few streets that are difficult to pass through with a stroller.
Come to think of it, there are many streets that are difficult to pass through when pushing a stroller.
I usually avoid such roads and take easy paths, but tourists don’t know that, do they?

That’s right!
By guiding families with small children along walkable paths to Asakusa, they will have no trouble getting around and will be able to enjoy Asakusa even more!

We launched this site with the concept of “Let’s go to Asakusa with the whole family”.

Purpose of the Site

The roads in Asakusa, especially those leading to Kaminarimon and Senso-ji, are very crowded.

There are many narrow streets that are unique to downtown, and side streets have undulations in the sidewalks.
Following the app’s directions can make it difficult to reach your destination if you have children or are pushing a stroller.

In such cases, we hope you will refer to this site for a better sightseeing experience in Asakusa.
